This is a statue of Harry Winston Jerome set in Stanley Park. He is a British Columbia’s athlete of the century (1871-1971) for his feat in setting numerous world records in the 100 meter dash and relays. Befittingly, a quote for Sir William Scott is engraved on the plaque of Harry’s statue. It reads, “The will to do, the soul to dare“.
Now, I am not running this race for time, but I am taking the dare that Becky planted in my ear a few years ago. Thirteen point two miles is all about the will to do and the soul to dare.
Great run this morning, ladies! Even the stormy weather gave pause to our training cause. Week Three: Completed!
